Irani Cup begins as J&K elect to bowl first | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 01 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra won the toss and elected to field against Rest of India in the Irani Cup at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium here on Thursday. J&K, who won the Ranji Trophy last season, have included Nasir Lone in their playing XI for the five-day encounter. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), J&K have gone in with Abdul Samad, Abid Mushtaq, Kanhaiya Wadhawan, Nasir Lone, Paras Dogra, Qamran Iqbal, Sahil Lotra, Shubham Khajuria, Shubham Singh Pundir, Sunil Kumar and Umar Nazir. J&K Playing XI: Abdul Samad, Abid Mushtaq, Kanhaiya Wadhawan (wk), Nasir Lone, Paras Dogra (c), Qamran Iqbal, Sahil Lotra, Shubham Khajuria, Shubham Singh Pundir, Sunil Kumar, Umar Nazir. Rest of India will be led by India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who will also keep wickets. Their line-up includes pacers Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar, along with M G Choudhary, M J Suthar, S N Khan, Sanat Sangwan, Saransh Jain, Shikhar Mohan, Smaran R and Sudip Kumar Gharami. Rest of India Playing XI: Akash Deep, M G Choudhary, M J Suthar, Mukesh Kumar, Rishabh Pant (c/wk), S N Khan, Sanat Sangwan, Saransh Jain, Shikhar Mohan, Smaran R, Sudip Kumar Gharami. The Irani Cup is being played from October 1 to 5, with J&K taking on Rest of India at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar.—(KNO)
